The project is focused on the development of a joint monitoring and training program of women’s NGOs in Bulgaria and Turkey on acquis communautaire in equal opportunities for women and men in the national legislation of Turkey and training Turkish women’s NGOs in European Union legislation on equal opportunities. As monitoring methodology experts are invited representatives of the Romanian organization Partnership for Equality Center, Bucharest, and leader of the Monitoring the European Union Accession Process Program of the Network Women’s Program of the Open Society Institute. The Bulgarian side will develop the methodology and carry out a pilot training for Turkish women NGO representatives in European Union legislation on equal opportunities. The Turkish side will start the research process on the reflection of acquis communautaire in the national legislation of Turkey.
Two Conferences of Bulgarian and Turkish women NGOs on acquis communautaire in the field of equal opportunities regarding the EU accession process will be held in Sofia and Ankara where the participants will exchange experience and ideas for the future steps in the harmonization with EU legislation.
The partners on this project will initiate a bilateral network of Bulgarian and Turkish NGOs as a part of the Network Women’s Program of Open Society Institute.
