Within the framework of the project the CWSP conducted a sociological survey regarding the level of awareness and the possibilities for applying gender mainstreaming among representatives of the 4 target groups: municipal administration and municipal councils, trade unions, regional development agencies and other NGOs. The aim of the survey aimed was to assess the level of knowledge and interest in gender issues, the possibilities for applying gender mainstreaming as well as its advantages. To this end were surveyed the future prospects for application of gender mainstreaming at three levels – national, regional and organizational.
The findings reveal that there is undoubtedly a necessity for specialized information and training with regard to gender mainstreaming, which was declared by all participants. About half of the respondents consider that gender mainstreaming should be an integral part of the governance policies and strategies at national level, 30% expect it to become a part of the policies of local governments and over 55% are optimistic regarding the future Implementation of gender mainstreaming at organizational level.
