During the discussions at the 8^th Annual Meeting of non-governmental organizations, working on women’s and equal opportunities issues, which was held on the 10 April 2006in Sofia, on the motion of Genoveva Tisheva, the participants decided to appeal to the National Assembly and the Government to:

• Adopt a Law on Equal Opportunities
• Ratify the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and promulgate the Convention
• Adopt amendments of the Family Code concerning the rights of children and parents in case of divorce
